We Save Home

MMPA’s We Save program helps residential customers save energy, money, and valuable natural resources. With rebates for purchasing ENERGY STAR® appliances and lighting, there are many ways you can save.

What types of rebates are offered?

MMPA offers rebates to residential customers for a variety of products that save energy through its We Save Home program.  There are rebates for LED bulbs and fixtures, and ceiling fans with light kits. There are also rebates for ENERGY STAR appliances such as:  dehumidifiers, dishwashers, refrigerators, freezers, clothes washers, electric clothes dryers, air purifiers, and quality installed central air-conditioners and air-source heat pumps.  Rebates are also available when you recycle working appliances such as refrigerators and freezers and when you get central air conditioner tune-ups.  For more information on rebates, please visit your hometown page.

Note:  if you qualify for Energy Assistance in MN, you may be eligible for a free energy audit through the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP).  Information about WAP can be found here.

Why should I participate?
Every kilowatt-hour saved through conservation is a kilowatt-hour that you do not have to buy and that never has to be produced! That’s a benefit to everyone.  While ENERGY STAR products may cost more up front, they’ll pay you back in monthly electric bill savings for years after your purchase.  Our ENERGY STAR rebate programs are designed to make this small incremental investment even more attractive.  By purchasing ENERGY STAR products, you reduce the need for new power plants, decrease overall consumption of fossil fuels, and lower your monthly utility bill.

What does ENERGY STAR mean?
ENERGY STAR is a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) voluntary program that helps businesses and individuals save money and protect our climate through superior energy efficiency.

ENERGY STAR products are independently certified to save energy without sacrificing features or functionality.  To earn the ENERGY STAR label, products must be certified by a third-party based on testing in EPA-recognized laboratories. In addition to this preliminary testing, a percentage of all ENERGY STAR products are subject to “off–the–shelf” verification testing each year.  Therefore, ENERGY STAR means more than just energy efficiency, it means products have been tested for quality and reliability.

MMPA is an official ENERGY STAR partner.  For more information on ENERGY STAR, visit www.energystar.gov.
