You can save energy in the workplace, too. Try these tips to improve your bottom line.
Electric Energy Savings at No or Low Cost
- Turn off computers and monitors when not in use.
- Make sure lights and equipment are off in unused offices, storage rooms and conference rooms.
- Plug business equipment and appliances into power strips and switch them off when not in use.
- Clean all light fixtures, bulbs, lenses and reflective surfaces to reduce the need for additional lighting.
- Place illuminated outdoor signs on a timer to shut off at 1:00 a.m.
- Instead of lighting up an entire room, use task lighting over desks and work areas.
- Program office equipment to automatically go into sleep mode when not in use.
