MMPA purchases some of the output of the Trimont Area Wind Farm from Great River Energy. This agreement supports MMPA’s commitment to sustainable energy generation.
Trimont Area Wind Farm (TAWF) has 67 wind turbines situated on approximately 8,900 acres of farm land near Jackson, Minnesota. MMPA purchases a portion of the output from TAWF from Great River Energy. This agreement supports MMPA’s commitment to sustainable energy generation.
TAWF is Minnesota’s first commercial-scale, landowner-developed wind farm. The project was launched by a coalition of 43 landowners in Jackson and Martin counties who answered Great River Energy’s request for proposals to develop a renewable energy supply resource. Property landowners benefit from revenue participation, as well as from traditional easement payments. Taxes from the Trimont wind farm benefit county programs and schools.
