Arlington is a small, growing city located in a rural setting 55 miles southwest of Minneapolis. Major businesses include Seneca Foods, Sibley Medical Center, the Good Samaritan Village nursing home and Scott Equipment, a manufacturer of large industrial equipment. Arlington has been involved in the delivery of electricity since the early 1900s when the city generated electricity in its old city hall. In 1992, Arlington and seven other cities joined together to form MMPA.
Clean Energy Choice
Customers deserve choice in their energy supply. We are excited to offer the Clean Energy Choice. Arlington’s supplier, MMPA, will provide 1 kWh from its Oak Glen Wind Farm, Hometown BioEnergy, or Hometown Wind to the power grid for each kWh you purchase. At this time, our residential customers can purchase renewable, sustainable energy for a premium of just $0.0175 per kWh for your actual household usage. If you use 750 kWh/month, that’s an additional $13 per month on your utility bill. Participation in this program is voluntary and on a month-to-month basis. There are no contracts to sign, and no long-term commitment. Please call Arlington’s Billing Department at 507-964-2378 for more information.
